WHO: Leah and Rae
WHEN: August 14, 2019; mid-afternoon
WHERE: Kitchen
WHAT: Decrazifying, idk.
RATING: Medium
Screaming helped, for whatever reason. When Leah was too on edge for meditation, her other option involved releasing pent-up frustrations in a very loud way. She was glad the freezer was soundproof. She didn’t want anyone to hear her. Admitting this kind of need to Rae was unexpected, but at least the other woman seemed to understand and wasn’t making fun of her because she couldn’t get a grip on herself. When Sing Sing really did feel like a prison, when they were forced to hide away in their rooms until a killer was found, when they were forced to have escorts everywhere… It was an awful trapped feeling that Leah couldn’t stand. Afterwards, once she’d screamed her throat raw, she returned to the main area of the kitchen. The sudden temperature change gave her a momentary sickened feeling, but it passed the longer she was exposed to warmth. A smile went into place as soon as Marigold came into sight. “I hope she wasn’t too much trouble. She’s been a little grumpy today because she missed her nap.” Of course, Marigold!grumpy and Leah!grumpy were two different breeds of grumpy, but Leah didn’t point that out in front of her daughter. The old Leah wouldn't have been acting this way. If the old Leah heard about a killer on the loose, she wouldn't have been locking herself up in a room. She'd have been protecting her sisters, yes, but not confining herself. Marigold was the only reason she was doing that. Rae, on the other hand, had her shit together. She wasn't hiding — not really, anyway — and she was in a more vulnerable state. Maybe Leah should've been taking notes instead of tearing apart at the seams. |
