[Father Thorne enters his interview calmly and very collected, shakes Evan's hand, and takes his seat.]
State your full name for the record. Michael Isaac Thorne. Do you have any nickname(s)? Some call me Father, Father Michael, Father Thorne, other variations on that. Please state your date of birth. I was born on the 25th of October in 1952. How long have you been a resident at Sing Sing? I made my way here in June, I do believe. [He scratches his chin.] Forgive me, I sometimes lose track of dates. Where, in Sing Sing, are you currently taking up residence? I reside in the chapel. Does anyone else live with you? The chapel is never closed to patrons. But no one technically claims residence there besides myself. What is your daily routine/job here at Sing Sing? My duty keeps me close to the chapel. I usually only stray from there for food and the occasional bird watching outside. Where were you on the night of August 2nd? In the chapel, that evening I played a game of chess with Sebastian Handsel and then he left. I believe I won. Told him we should have a rematch soon. It's nice to have someone who can play chess and genuinely seems to enjoy it. Where were you on the morning of August 3rd? In the chapel. Are there people who can account for your whereabouts? After Mr. Handsel left? I don't believe so. What are their names? Sebastian Handsel would be the only one. Did you know Mr. Marsh? He came to the chapel on occasion to pray and attend services. — If yes: in what capacity did you know Mr. Marsh? I was just a priest. Mr. Marsh rarely talked to me, so I'd mind my own business in my office unless he requested my presence. Do you know why anyone would want to kill him? No. He seemed like a nice fellow. Didn't seem to have any enemies. Have you heard and/or seen any suspicious activity around the compound, lately? I spend most of my time in the chapel. And suspicious usually doesn't happen in the chapel. Lastly, for now, who have you been "buddying up" with? Sebastian.
