"Eh. Rules are dumb, but I guess if there weren't any, we wouldn't have any to break and life would be boring." A rather pragmatic approach, compared to Caitie's usual irritation when it came to the rules and being forced to follow them, but she was in a good mood that day and a reminder that some of the people around here had sticks up their butts wouldn't dissuade her. Caitie scrunched her nose at the mention of porn and nodded her head. "Finding Nemo!" she said excitedly, maybe a little too loudly. She quickly put her hand over her mouth and looked at Maddie apologetically. "And maybe Ice Age," she added in a lower voice.
All the time she spent trying to act like a grown up was easily undone by a stupid comment or two like that. She didn't mean to do it. But she got excited about things easily.
Evading security and cameras was how Caitie had survived as long as she had on her own. It helped, being quiet and light on her feet, but knowing when to duck and when not to was definitely important. It was fun, getting to apply those skills in a setting with someone else, to show off a little bit.
"Hey! I bet you couldn't have done better!" she insisted.
Never afraid to laugh at her own expense, Caitie shook her head at the mess she'd made on the floor. "Good thing it's just shampoo. Maybe I should leave some and someone can slip on it. Give the Projector Guy a show in the security room." She still cleaned most of it up, but she did, in fact, leave a splotch on the floor.
Once she'd finished wiping up most of the shampoo, she stood up and headed for the back door, easily making her way under the camera's blind spots and blinking in the sunlight and its bright contrast to the darkness that usually came with cell blocks. She understood Maddie's want to run; her own motto was much the same as her friend's. It was how she'd survived this long, anyway.
She saw Maddie, at a stop, up ahead, and speed-walked to catch up, glancing in the direction her friend was looking. "Definitely not a good day to be sleeping outside," she murmured. "Maybe we should wake him up so he doesn't die from heatstroke or something..."
