Taisce Moore is a knight with a shining M4. (taisce) wrote in immune_ic,
She was lucky she was on the other side of the room. But she knew better than to stand in front of a door that opened inward, that would have been stupid even if it hadn't been O'Brien that flew through it.
He was really mad. Poor Marty. She genuinely felt bad for what the poor man would end up walking back into. But maybe he'd be expecting it? He had worked with O'Brien for a while. Knew him a lot better than she did. But she knew that Marty was a sort of a sore spot for O'Brien, and it was just the perfect distraction. She owed them both apologies later on. She'd set the chair that Marty had been sitting on back up moments before O'Brien came in. To avoid making it obvious that she'd startled him.
"I don't know. No. And I was in the area, on my way to the rec building when I happened to not see Marty at his post," she answered his questions in a calm, list-like manner. "I stuck around to make sure that the post was manned until he got back. But being as you are Head of Security, I figured you needed to know."
She shook her head at the last inquiry. "Even if he were here when I got here, he wouldn't try anything weird. I wouldn't have let him."
She waved at the walkie. "I already let the others know what's up." She was getting ready to panic when Marty waltzed back through the door, plate in hand. Marty hadn't actually abandoned his post, and Taisce hadn't actually said anything over the walkie, she prayed that O'Brien would put the walkie down and opt to direct his anger at Marty instead.
"Oh, hey O'Brien! Hey, girl I can't remember your name!" Marty smiled. "They had lasagna in the mess hall. It's pretty good, I got a bite before heading back out here." His face contorted to slight confusion. "Why are you two out here? I thought you were both off duty today?"
Taisce was always "on call" when it came to the supply room, being as O'Brien was the only other person with a key to it aside from herself. But neither of them were on the roster for guard duty, so Marty acted very surprised to see them both. Taisce was glad to let Marty take the reins, and the fall. She hoped he'd be a good sport about it later.
