The soft smile returned to Michael's face as Sebastian perused his journal. "I'd love to see yours sometime. We can compare notes! See where patterns lie and the sort. Granted, I'm the furthest thing from an expert on either ornithology or the infection." As long as Sebastian kept that in mind, he was more than willing to share his information.
"I think I started bird watching when I was nine years old? My father bought me a pair of binoculars and the rest is history."
He took back his journal, closing it and setting it back on the pew. "Drawings don't have to be good to be useful. If it's in your journal, it's mostly for you. And as long as it makes sense and works for your purposes, that's all that matters really."
He thought on pets. "Never kept birds as pets. Though a woodpecker did take up residence in a tree in the churchyard of the church I was connected to in England. The sisters would feed him."
