It really was odd to George to even be talking at all. People usually gave up when paired against her frigid countenance. What was the point of talking to someone that was only going to ignore you? Or at least that was typically their reasoning she imagined. But no here she was yammering away like they had been doing so for years and it felt odd. The only person she ever opened up to anymore was Danny. He was her constant on just about everything. Conversation there was free and non-judging. They were siblings and he was her best friend. But this girl might just be someone she'd like to go to if Danny ever seemed to be inappropriate. Maybe. She seemed genuine enough though right now.
George blinked, stared and then laughed. She couldn't actually blame Allie for wondering that. It was a fairly odd place to read. It came with its very own special effects and everything. But it was a very funny question as she shook her head trying to stop laughing at the same time to talk. "No," She paused took a breath which only made her laugh more. It was sort of obnoxious but she managed to cut the laughing short. "No. I'm quite happy without catching anything from a room that probably hasn't been cleaned in five years. Release or not."
Frowning George sighed. "I don't really think so." She muttered head turned back toward the book. She really wasn't fond of her name these days. There were just too many memories attached to it. She preferred George it wasn't as painful to hear roll off a person's tongue.
George's reasons were a lot more selfish than that but well there was that reason too. "It's just pointless to force women into that position. At least let us get pregnant of our own free will. Heaven's knows there aren't enough condoms in the immediate area to keep us from getting pregnant forever." Besides at least if it was an oops baby it was still the product of something that had been enjoyed. George had this disturbing image of the tables in a gynecologist's office with straps to tie the woman down while emptied a turkey baster into her. It was gross and hugely demeaning. But then who knew maybe all the people in charge were for stripping women of the few rights they'd gathered in the last hundred years or so.
