"Ah, hello?" The voice was almost an echo in tone, but the pitch was lower. Male. Uncertain. Definitely human, however. It took a few seconds for the man who belonged to the voice to appear. Sebastian normally didn't venture out much away from the greenhouses. He'd always been habitually detached from whatever was going on around him, and it wasn't unusual for him to be a bit lost. Nor was it odd for him to skip meals, now and again.
There weren't many places or people that he knew on sight in Sing Sing, however, the kitchen - and the regular kitchen lady - was one. He'd had to speak with her about his food restrictions, and he'd seen her about the greenhouse. His understanding of the situation was vague, but he'd gotten the gist. The funeral preparations had been pretty clear. He liked the woman, and felt bad for her, but didn't know how to handle grief. So he'd been avoiding the kitchens. Skipping meals deliberately instead of by accident.
That kind of thing could only last so long, however, and he'd ultimately found himself in the vicinity. When he'd seen that there were lights on, he'd ventured into the kitchen, only hoping to see who it was and whether or not there were excessive tears being shed before asking after any possible leftovers. "Sorry! I... ah. I... don't mean to bother... It's just... well, me."
He blinked a bit, surprised that Rae wasn't the blonde woman who came into view just because he did associate her so strongly with the location, but at the very least there was no weeping. "Oh. Hello."
