Rory saw the start of that smile, just as clearly as she saw the anger Finn was holding back. For her sake, for his own, the reasoning didn't matter. He was quick to passion, this person of hers, and it was just so surprising to see him set that aside. But she couldn't complain, not when he was essentially refusing to let her go.
With his arms around her, Rory didn't want to have any other responsibilities. She just wanted this. His arms, his comfort. She'd even take his yelling, his anger, his upset, if it meant his arms stayed around her.
"I don't think I can really...make you understand why we did it. Why we truly believed we were all doing the right thing. But...we all learned that we were wrong, Finn. Some more than others." She was quiet as she spoke, as he studied the only injury she had obtained from the lab incident. A few stitches, and she was good as new. Others had not been quite so lucky, and that was going to weigh on her for a long time.
