When she heard the door open, she finally raised her head and looked to see who was there. Rory. Rae didn't know she was coming, and she probably should've gotten up and said something, but she just... didn't want to move. Not right away. Honestly, this bed was the last place she was happy with him. The morning the lab incident had happened, they'd been arguing about whether he should go or not. Rae didn't think it was a good idea, and insisted over and over again; begged that he not go. She'd thought, after that, that they had an agreement. That he wouldn't go. But he'd gone, and now he was gone. And the last good memory she had of him was laying there in the early morning, talking about their plans for the weekend.
The thought brought more tears to her eyes, but she blinked them back for the time being and looked up at Rory. "Hi," she spoke, her voice a dead giveaway of how she was feeling. "I wasn't... I wasn't expecting you..." she added, trying to keep herself level.
Rory asked her if she wanted company and the answer wasn't instantly obvious like it usually was. But after a few seconds, she pulled in a breath, nodded, and sat up. Her feet touched the floor and she looked at Rory. "I... can't really guarantee I'll be good company right now. As a matter of fact, I can pretty much guarantee the opposite, but if you can deal with... this..." she still had a hold on the shirt, but now she was sitting up straight and looking up at Rory with an expression that said, Please. I don't want to be by myself...
After turning her head away and reaching up to wipe her eyes, she glanced back at Rory again. "How's Ellie?" she asked. "Do you know?"
