Evan heard the telltale sounds of people—people, thankfully, not more infected—approaching and he wondered how many people were looking for this woman. Though he was wondering who, exactly, it was, he didn't ask. She extended her hand to him and he shook it. He was still a little bit shaken from the attack in general, but not so much so that he lost his manners.
"Evan," he responded to her greeting, a little bit winded himself. She asked him if there was anything he needed, but he shook his head no. "Nothing right now, no. Like I said, I'm just glad I made it in time…" he told her. Evan may not have been the most altruistic of people, and it may have actually been an accident that he saved her, but for now, he was just glad that he'd gotten there on time.
"Let's get out of here. He cried enough that it's only a matter of time…" he trailed off, not feeling the need to finish that sentence. "Let's just… get out of here. Quickly."
