It wasn't unusual for Rory to take time away from the infirmary to take AJ to the playground. Since it had been built, it had become one of her son's favorite spots, and since her capture, Rory hadn't been working quite as many hours. Still plenty, but with slightly more free time now. Her son was definitely reaping the rewards of that.
Along the way to the playground, AJ had stopped to squat down and rip a flower, roots, dirt, and all, from the ground. It looked a bit like a daisy, but not quite. Rory assumed it was a wildflower and paid it no further mind as AJ scampered off ahead of her, flower in hand.
It wasn't until AJ's course veered slightly that Rory had an idea of where her son was headed, and it made her smile despite herself. Maybe he hadn't planned this all along, but as Rory got closer, AJ drew nearer to Leah as well, and by the time she walked up, her son was presenting the blonde with the dirty little flower he'd plucked.
"Ear," AJ said with a big, silly grin. It was always remarkable to Rory that her kid wasn't shy, wasn't afraid of people, especially after the facility. Even if he couldn't say 'here' yet, he wasn't intimidated by adults. It was nice, in a way.
"I don't think he's forgotten that you introduced him to swings," Rory said, before gesturing to the seat beside Leah. "This seat taken?" AJ was going to run off any second now, so a little adult company wouldn't hurt.
