If there was anything about Caitie that could possibly identify her to passersby, it was her hair. That was the down-side to wearing bottle-red hair, she was realizing, but she didn't care. It set her apart from everyone else, and that was all that mattered. Except for during times like this when she was supposed to be discreet. Staying hidden was tough when a part of you shone like a beacon, even in the dark. Most of her hair was hidden underneath a black hat, but little bits of red peeked out here and there.
For the most part, Caitie's own theft was an act of necessity, but if someone older and cooler than her asked her to participate in a quick little B&E just for fun? She wasn't going to say no. Maybe there were other ways to have fun, but none of them were quite as fun as picking the lock to someone's private space and rifling through their stuff.
Smirking, Caitie nodded and pulled the couple of tools necessary to pick most locks in this place from her lockpicking kit. “No one saw me, no. Good thing about being small and quick. I can stay in shadows easier than taller people. This shouldn't take long,” she told the other girl with a grin. “We should totally come up with code names, by the way. I kinda want to call you Wolfmonster.” She looked less wolfy and more Sasquatch in the mask, but that didn't matter.
Twisting the lockpick tools just a little bit as she bypassed one of the tumblers, and then again to get underneath the next one, she turned her head just slightly to look at Maddie when she asked what the guy had in his room. “I half expect to open the door and see a twirly French villain mustache in a display case along the back wall of the room. And maybe a beret. And one of those fancy cigarette smoker thingies.”
Click! Just like that, the lock was picked.
Caitie stood, swinging the door open and stepping out of the way. “After you, fearless leader.”
