Fortunately for Caitie, her own "thievery" had developed long after she separated from Everett and Christina. She was sure they wouldn't approve; they'd probably try and ground her or whatever. But they weren't here. So they couldn't. Not that she was glad they weren't there—she missed them way more than she could say—but one of the bonuses for it was freedom. That was what this rebellion or whatever was supposed to give, right? So... promise fulfilled.
In a lot of ways, Maddie reminded her of her brother Ryan's personality. Funny, rebellious and always willing to take Caitie along when she did something fun. This was one of those times. She wasn't sure breaking into the leader-guy's mansion-room was such a good idea, but she didn't really care either. It would be fun. She was willing to bet that he had a ton of weird French things in there. Things she could take back to her room and decorate with or things she could trade for other things.
So, as promised, she'd gone into Ossining that day to raid that costume shop for a mask for herself, as well as a couple additions to her lockpicking kit in the key shop. She'd made it back to Sing Sing at around eight. After that, all she had to do was wait until the time Maddie told her to meet up with her.
Now, at about ten at night and under the shroud of darkness, she made her way to the administrative building with a smirk on her face underneath her Bill Clinton mask. She raised a hand to wave at Maddie from a distance. "Brought my kit," she said, reaching into the side-pack she carried and pulling out a long, slender case, which opened to reveal about a dozen silver tools. "You want to, or should I?" she asked, nodding at the door.
