The sudden movement surprised Ellie. Her head seemed to turn a flip as he lifted her upward, and so did her stomach, but with warmth... And an odd assortment of butterflies. Luckily this was a time for feeling. No thinking. Not a thought at all.
She deepened the kiss almost immediately, winding both arms around David's neck; in the same movement her knees drew up to surround him, skirt pooling around her hips. It was funny how much more of him there seemed to be, now that she'd gotten so close. He'd always been tall -- she'd always had to crane upward to look at him properly -- but there seemed to be miles of him now. She almost wanted to stand up, pull all of those miles down into the sand with her. Oh well. The chair made for friction with any small movement of her body, and Ellie couldn't say she minded. She wasn't minding much of anything at all.
