David's own mind was racing; a cacophony of thoughts swirling around in his head, telling him yes and no and what will this do to our friendship? He knew he had a tendency to overthink things sometimes, but was he wrong to do it here? He didn't know. But at the moment, with her pressed up against him and touching him... his body was winning out over his mind.
She confirmed that she knew that it would be casual and he swallowed thickly, that little logical part of his head about to lose.
The war was lost. Body and brain had fought a valiant fight, but as usual, brain was kicked out of the equation. It wasn't that he wasn't patient. But she was on top of him, and touching him... and statistics showed that men generally had lower patience thresholds than women did.
When she touched his lips, that was pretty much it.
He reached down with long arms, putting his hands on her waist and pulling her up so that she was fully on top of him. Without another word, he leaned up and pressed his lips to hers, moving his hand up to rest on her neck and his fingers to brush against her jaw.
