"I can't be difficult on command," Rory explained, breathy laughter warming the undertones of her words all the way through. She couldn't help but smile, despite the way this whole conversation had started. Not when Finn was mocking her teasingly, hiding halfway behind his free hand as Rory held his other one. That glimmer of affection and mischief in his eyes was something she'd missed, though it took seeing it for her to realize as much.
But that was always how these things went. As stubborn as they were, it was a small miracle they were able to rediscover the little things that made it harder to concentrate, harder to stay logical and practical. The stuff that kicked Rory's pulse up a bit, made her grateful that she didn't blush easily.
She moved their joined hands down to their sides, stepped forward to make them one chin tip away from another bit of contact she'd missed. "Still planning on swooning?"
