With a smile, Evan listened as Eloise spoke of who she was named after. He tilted his head to the side and gave her a smile. "There's a series of books about an Eloise. They're children's books, but I'm actually surprised that you didn't tell me you were named after her. The other Eloise I know was named after her," he told her, and then he was stricken by the realization that they were in a library.
He motioned for her to follow him. "Suivez-moi," he offered. "I'll show you."
He chuckled a little bit when she complimented his English. "Ah, merci. As is your French. Not a lot of non-natives actually get all the intricacies right, but you seem to have it down. I had to learn a lot, though. I worked in a field where I had to know a few different languages, and English was one of them."
