Evan, on the other hand, wanted nothing more than normalcy. He missed the way life used to be. No, he wasn't sure if normalcy would feel normal if it came backā¦ not at first, anyway, but normalcy was safe. He missed some of the superficial trappings that came with a normal life, that was for certain.
"I did," he nodded and smiled softly when she asked his name again. "Not a very French name, I know, especially with siblings with names like Daniel and Georgette." He made sure to say Danny and George's names with extra French annunciation on the proper parts. "I think maman was on an American kick when she named me. Which would make sense, since she always said that she'd just come off a two week vacation to the states," he added with a shrug.
She asked if he'd been here long and he nodded. "Well, seven years anyway. I moved my whole family out this way."
