Ellie smiled at that -- maybe leaning toward a smirk -- but said nothing. She didn't mind either way if it ever did; even if things went back to "normal", she was not the girl she'd been, not the kind of girl who could thrive in those conditions. It was true she couldn't thrive in these, either, but she was hopeful. Hope was one of the better things about being among people again.
"Thank you," she said quietly. "You said Evan, didn't you?" Remembering names. Once upon a time, it had been cute to say she'd been bad with them. Was that the same now? Everyone seemed to treasure their humanity so much, they'd hold onto any custom they could.
"How long have you been here?" She added after a moment. That seemed to be the question to ask.
