Evan was quiet when Elliot explained his side of things and he shrugged. "Maybe, but you've changed a lot since I met you, even. And with that change more than likely comes a lot of maturity. Which isn't to say you weren't mature before, but now I think you're exactly what this place needs. Everyone's prone to bad decisions..." he shrugged. "Even me. I think this is evidence of that."
He sighed. "I know. I have issues with authority myself. Experiences with them in the past haven't been pleasant. I'm trying not to be like that... I think that's why it hits me so hard." He shrugged. Elliot's snapping tone was met with a glare. "Yeah, all right. I get it, dude. I'm an idiot. What else do you fucking want from me?" Because the repercussions for all of this wouldn't be enough, or anything.
"Danny might've tried. Brandon probably would've gone right along with me, though, so I imagine you're right..." he trailed off. "But... hypotheticals. I'm glad she's okay, though. It won't happen again, that I can promise you." Bad idea to promise that so soon? Maybe. But he was determined not to allow anything like that to happen again. It didn't matter what he had to do.
Evan narrowed his eyes. "You have the bedside manner of a yeti with Tourettes, just so you know," he snarked.
He shook his head no. "I don't think I can ask her to do that right now. She probably wants to spend as much time as she can with Marigold." At least he hoped she did. She hadn't seemed too excited, at first.
"It is. Even if it's just for her to tell me she doesn't want to see me anymore. Then I can deal with it."
