"Elliot?" Evan called to his friend in surprise. "What..." he paused when it occurred to him that he had no idea how to end that question.
One minute, he was taking a breather in a guard tower and the next, it seemed, he was in the medical ward. It was surprising, to say the least, but honestly, anything would've been surprising to him right then, even waking up in the same place he'd passed out, more than likely. He looked up at his friend and his lips curved downward into a frown. "Did you find me?" he asked. An odd first question, maybe, but one that needed asking. Because if Elliot hadn't found him, who had? There were definitely far worse scenarios than being found by his best friend, anyway.
How was he feeling? Evan considered his answer carefully. He was feeling... confused. That was definitely the most prominent feeling. So, "Confused," he said, chuckling awkwardly, "definitely confused. And wondering what, exactly, happened to me."
With a glance down at his arm, he winced at the IV that had been stuck in there. "Bad enough that I need an IV?" he asked, thinking back. "I remember suddenly not being able to breathe and being really, really exhausted... and I just couldn't stand anymore. I tried to text you... or Leah. Or someone..." he frowned. "I've never had anything like that happen to me. It was... weird."
He turned his head and looked around. "How long have I been here? I shouldn't be here right now. I need to... do... there's obviously something I need to do..." he put his arms behind him and tried to sit up. The longer he was in here, the more chance the government people had to take advantage of the weakness and attack, right? So... he needed to get out of here.
"I have to work on securing this place. Just in case they come back."
