Rae chuckled a little bit and shrugged a shoulder. "I'll remember that. If I start breaking out in random Swedish, don't tell people I'm an alien, okay? Or possessed. Because everyone nowadays has a gun and I'd rather not be taken down for no reason," she joked. Maybe it was in bad taste, but what nowadays was in good taste, Rae wondered. Marga's mention that the US might be the only nation still standing made Rae frown. Her father had lost communication with their grandparents in Sweden years ago, so she didn't know if it was entirely false, and had no comforting words to say. "I used to dream of visiting Sweden… just to see where my dad grew up, you know? It sucks, knowing that it probably won't ever happen now."
Pushing herself past the first part of Marga's statement, Rae took her usual "joke-maker" stance to pull things back to a more lighthearted air. "Maybe we should write the books in zombie language so that we can still make millions. What would zombie language be, anyway? Zombish? Zombese? Inquiring minds want to know…" she smirked. "Besides that, with today's economy, we'd still be way ahead of the game with thousands, so I would call that a win."
As good as Rae usually was at covering people's asses, admittedly, she felt a little bit more nervous this time around. Most of the time, the people that she covered were more, well, experienced at close combat. She adored Marga, the woman was among her dearest friends since the world ended, really, but she was one of the few that Rae feared protecting up close. Not because she didn't think Marga could handle herself, but because Rae feared screwing up and having someone else pay for it.
"Sorry," she frowned at Marga's response. "Stupid question," she added quickly. "Hey, for someone who doesn't usually do this sort of thing, you did awesome. I would say that you just need more practice, but forgive me for saying that I sincerely hope you don't get it."
She looked around and gave a semi-satisfied nod. "The place at least seems tactically sound for you, now. You have a good view of the drug store and the camping supply place, so if I stick to those two places, I think we should be okay. Just… be sure to bar the door behind me and I'll head back up this way when I'm done."
