When he saw Zimmerman stiffen up after his comment about Alghren, he expected the attack to come then, and he braced himself for the punch he knew Zimmerman could throw. But when it didn't come, he knew that he needed to keep going. He couldn't let the guy rush off and get himself killed. He hadn't expected the second comment to be what did it. They were alike, after all. Comments about them didn't do anything, but comments about their loved ones? That was all it took.
Today seemed to be the reverse. The first punch took Brandon off guard. His cheekbone felt like it was on fire; white hot pain-flecks burst from the bone to the skin, but he didn't falter. Zimmerman had risen to the bait, and all Brandon needed to do was win and his plan would've succeeded for once. From the corner of his eye, he watched Zimmerman the Youngest step back and hide himself a little bit, and realized that he'd caught on to what Brandon was trying to do. Good. Made it that much easier, that he didn't have to rag-doll throw the younger man across the room.
"Seems like you've got more than enough time to me, Zimmerman," he snapped in return.
He moved forward, momentum not on his side like it had been Zimmerman's, but still a decent amount of power behind his fist as he connected with Zimmerman's ribcage. It seemed, compared to their last fight, roles were being reversed. Brandon was together, thinking through his every move, but Zimmerman was in Brandon's usual role: fighting fiercely, but thoughtlessly. If this worked, maybe he'd give that method some thought.
Managing to get a second blow in to the man's ribcage, he tried to think of a quick way to incapacitate the other man. On the other side of the car, Zimmerman the Youngest turned his head away. He could only imagine how tough this was, having to watch his brother being beaten down by someone he hated as much as he hated Brandon and not saying anything or stopping it.
"Don't be stupid, Zimmerman," Brandon seethed. "Always thought you were smarter than to chase a fucking government cavalry on your own."
