Tough might have been one of the words for it. Though cowardly would be the other word for it as far as she was concerned. She might not minded if he pried into things. Even because she didn't think that she'd bring it up or think about it without someone else doing a lot of the prodding. Though either way, she knew that he'd be there for her. The same way that she would always be there for him, whether he needed her or not. They would just have to be there for each other, and Lucretia was all right with that. She didn't actually want it any other way.
"All right, fine. I wandered off. And I won't ever do it again. You don't have to be worried about things. And no distractions," she nodded her head in agreement. As to his question about her coat, she just kind of shrugged. "I've not been thinking about it all that much. I mean not until I was really outside and realized that it was just like I didn't have a coat on in the first place. I just wasn't thinking about it." She shrugged a little, and frowned.
It really was a poor excuse for a coat, and it was awful. Whether he was teasing or her not, she really did need a new coat. And she'd been freezing. It was probably the reason why she was always cold and felt awful. Not that she thought she was getting sick, but if she didn't watch it, she would be. That would be very bad. "I'm fine until we get me a new coat. And then maybe I won't be so cold all the time, even indoors." God she hoped so.
Following him out the front doors, she nodded a bit. "I think you're right. We'll find it." Though maybe they should have taken a map. Ah well. Following next to him down the street, she kept her eyes and ears open. Thankfully it didn't seem like there was anyone about. That would probably change though once they got away from Grand Central. She didn't say much, if only because she was trying to pay attention. "Thank you for coming with me, by the way."
