Naruto - Romance
Series: Naruto
Characters: minor mention of Ino and Sasuke, central to nobody
Type: Gen
Pairings: none
Warnings: PG13 for brief mentions of rape and sex
Spoilers: none
Status: complete, drabble
Word Count: 155
Etc: Just some brief ideas on why the girls are so obsessed with romance (besides being at that age)
Boys and girls got their sex education class when they were ten years old or became a genin. When they became chuunin, there was an additional course on using and resisting seduction and the aftereffects of rape. Some girls, like Ino, volunteered for extra courses and special missions. Nobody spoke of them, not even her teammates.
Girls were encouraged to find their "special someone" and lose their virginity quickly. The teacher never said why, but they all figured it out soon enough. Nobody wanted a foreign village's interrogation squad to be their first time. (Konoha refused to use sex in torture, but the other hidden villages didn't share the philosophy. Ninja don't play fair, after all.)
It wasn't too surprising that the girls became obsessed with finding the perfect boy afterwards. It was Sasuke’s misfortune to be seen as that ideal.
The first time had to be special, because the second time might not be.
