Etc: Shaoran's decision had further-reaching implications than he knew. I'm also terrible for throwing a BSG line in there, but it fits.
3 Sakura curls her small hands into fists as she looks the witch in the eye. "I'm supposed to be by his side, I have to save him." A world without Shaoran...she couldn't bear to think about it. He couldn't die like this. Her heart ached with the loss, though it had yet to happen.
A hand sweeps through the air to point at her, long sleeve trailing. "It is a grave transgression to turn back time. Those close to him will be affected by your decision, and you will leave a gap behind you."
"What will happen?"
"Their destinies will change, and another will take your place in the relationships you leave behind in your price. You can never go back, and will forever bear this burden."
She winces, closing her green eyes tight for a moment as if in pain. It seems oddly familiar, like a story she's long forgotten; but she knows it's more than that. Shocked, she looks up to the woman. "This has happened before."
The Witch of Dimensions smiles, somewhere between wistful and melancholy. "And will happen again."
With the sudden clarity she gets with her visions, she sees how it must be. She and Shaoran have something unbreakable, that not even worlds can keep apart. Her world was without a Shaoran, so there must've been an imbalance to cause this. Somewhere, a Shaoran made this same decision. They are bound, forced to commit the same sin. "Yes. I want to go back!"
She blinks at the boy who suddenly appeared in front of her. He was her age, though taller, had short black hair and a serious face. One of her hands reaches out, only to fall back just short of touching this other boy. "This is the boy who will take my place."
The woman still looms ominously in the darkness, one hand resting on the boy's shoulder. "He will be the child of your parents, the sibling to your brother. He is you. But he will suffer as a result of your decision."
"Even so," Sakura blurts, trying to still her shaking hands, "Will he...will he be happy, in the end? Will there be somebody special for him?"
A soft smile appears, contrasting with the serious red eyes of the witch. "Yes. The other who was created the last time I granted this wish will not be by himself any more. The memories and feelings they share will keep them from disappearing
Sakura feels herself tearing up, "I'm glad, I'm so glad they won't be alone." As she feels herself being pulled away by strands of darkness to where her Shaoran is, she watches heavy-lidded eyes start to open, revealing golden eyes. "Live a good life!" she calls, hoping he hears her.
But the girl spares it no more thought, as she has to figure out how to save Shaoran.
