Naruto - Blow out the Candles 2 Series: Naruto Characters: ensemble Pairing: Gaara/Lee Type: college AU, humor Warnings: alcohol Spoilers: none Word Count: 255 Etc: More silly college stuff. I keep slipping between American and Japanese culture, so it's getting rather inconsistant. 2000 yen is roughly $20. I really should be nicer to poor Neji.
Temari is the first to turn 21, and thus required to have a boisterous drunken party for the sake of those still underage. She complies against her better judgment, stocking up her new apartment. Most of the group decides to partake. (Hinata hates the taste, Shikamaru and Gaara don’t see the point, and Lee insists it’s wrong to do so before he’s old enough.)
The liquid stupid flows freely and they act accordingly, but nothing truly mortifying happens. (Unless you talk to Neji, who’s humiliated he started singing.) Things rapidly go downhill after Kiba spikes Lee’s drink. A broken chair, dented wall, and bruised Neji, Gaara, and Naruto later, they stare at the passed-out Lee in amazement.
“He never touches alcohol again,” declares Gaara, disliking how strange his boyfriend had acted. There is collective enthusiastic nodding from all but one person in the room. Sai smiles. “That was fun!” Sakura raises a fist. Gaara looks murderous. The rest of them range from shock to anger. He raises his hands, placating, “But I won’t give him alcohol. Really!”
Kankurou lets them have his bed; Gaara carries his lover. No jokes are cracked because Lee isn’t awake to sputter and blush. Gaara doesn’t like other people seeing them so intimate. Even among their closest friends, displays of affection are chaste and brief. He likes thinking of the rest as theirs alone. After locking the door, he curls protectively around Lee and falls asleep.
Tenten sneaks in and takes a few pictures. Sakura pays 2,000 yen for copies.
Edit: Fixed age discrepency, so a few details changed.
