Windex to the Soul
Our eyes held,
Did weld,
For one and a half seconds
As we sat in our prime.
And in that time,
Time expanded,
And I landed
In the front seat
Of the first one I enjoyed,
The first rollercoaster
That had me laughing,
Instead of having with me toyed.
I saw your core, your naked self.
It was hardly something new,
And at the same time had received
A fresh coating of pink paint too.
I knew you knew I knew you well,
You too knew this was obvious.
Otherwise, instead of viewing
With an air of contained bliss,
I would have stared for hours
Just to see that nothing’s clear.
In the eyes of but a stranger,
To know one pigment takes a year.
Our eyes held,
Did weld,
For one and a half seconds
As we sat in our prime.
And in that time,

Exultation
The brown-black sea
Of seventeen,
Like rawest blend
Of cocoa bean
Around the almonds
Of the love
We can't deny,
Cannot break of.
Soft and delicate
Hair and eyes,
Though it’s not
A great surprise:
You yourself
Are warm and soft.
And you, yourself,
I hold aloft.
The brown-black sea
Of seventeen,
Like rawest blend
Of cocoa bean
Around the almonds
Of the love
We can't deny,
Cannot break of.
Soft and delicate
Hair and eyes,
Though it’s not
A great surprise:
You yourself
Are warm and soft.
And you, yourself,
I hold aloft.
The Little Whisky Dipper
You are my vice of choice,
My purest liquid of the moon;
Illegal, so unlawful that it is
To make you swoon.
I come back to you because
You give an unmatched buzz.
I’d mix you up so quick
Just to make our pathways stick
So together in this endeavor,
Aware inside this era.
For you the jewel-encrusted
Miss America tiara
Soundly proclaims,
In coded refrains,
That between us all things are good and fine.
You are my heaven
Brought down from divine
Entities who aren’t willing
To “keep us in line.”
My hidden ambrosia,
My illicit moonshine.
You are my vice of choice,
My purest liquid of the moon;
Illegal, so unlawful that it is
To make you swoon.
I come back to you because
You give an unmatched buzz.
I’d mix you up so quick

Closed Captivating
Captivate me.
I don’t want to see the world.
Make sure you’re
The only sight I recognize.
I’ll do my part to blind myself
To everything that isn’t you
Or, if it isn’t, I won’t give me time
To realize.
Just dance yourself in front of me
For one more moonlit nightly
And, in finding this out,
Rightly should it be of no surprise:
Not only will the sons of time
And daughters of the air
Make earth and flames to care
Enough to fuel the water’s lies,
The character of lethargy
With play the tune of ages
And make sure nevermore
The lonely sage’s village cries,
The cats and daffodils
Will have a test of iron wills
And cause oil reserves to spill
In order to give up the prize,
The clouds will have a meal
Of heated meaty veal and gins,
And venial sins.
All this, but nowhere else will have
The loyalty of my two eyes.
Captivate me.
I don’t want to see the world.
Make sure you’re
The only sight I recognize.
I’ll do my part to blind myself
To everything that isn’t you
Or, if it isn’t, I won’t give me time
