She watched him for a moment, he seemed like he wasn’t uncomfortable by his temporary accomadations. She had worried some over that in the days leading up to his arrival. What if he didn’t like where they put him up? She wasn’t sure but he might not be able to get a room at a local hotel had that been the case.
With a tilt of her head Laura glanced at the alarm clock resting on the bedside table. Six forty-five; they should probably be leaving in the near future so as to not completely miss the chance to skate. “There was.” She responded, silently hoping he’d come closer. They still had a few moments before her brother would feel the need to be obnoxious and intrude again.
“I just have to get my brother and he’ll take us out to the rink.” It sounded a little lame now to have to admit that her brother was driving them. She probably sounded ridiculous for it too, but she hadn’t exactly managed to work out doing drivers ed in conjunction with attending Idris, at least not without making her parents wonder how she wasn’t racking up huge bills in plane tickets. As it was she had to plan very carefully in order for her to come home more than every now and again without suspicion.
Moving away from the wall Laura started to leave the room to go find her brother so that they could leave. It would be a shame to have him come all the way there and then not do as promised.
