“I knew it. I knew it! Figured I recognized you from somewhere other than Dance Company. Man, I'm good.” He grinned. Maybe his triumph struck others as being a little strange, and he figured that it most likely did, but hey, if they had any idea what it was like living as such a space cadet, they'd be pretty proud of themselves too if they actually remembered something. Yup, that was his story, and he was sticking to it!
Well, that, and the one about him being so popular that people couldn't expect him to remember their names. He was gonna stick to that one, too.
“Gotta say, though...” Forcing himself to look serious, Jae dropped his book on the table and, ignoring the subsequent thud it made (and the way some of the people sitting at the surrounding tables turned to look at them), folded his arms over his chest and leaned back in his seat. “I was pretty bent about losing. You guys stole my thunder for real, you know? What's up with that, huh?”
Pinching his lips together, he looked Misae in the eye and waited for her to respond, looking suitably expectant as he did. He wasn't really upset over it -- seriously, it was cool, and they HAD been really good! -- but he figured he'd pull her leg a little. What's life without a joke here and there, right?
