She had guts, thought Mac. He liked that, even if she was a blonde. As she rose to her full height, Mac raised his head and looked up. He could stand up taller than her, even in this form if he tried. The mental image made Mac smile, but it turned out more like a grimace. Crocodiles snouts were not built for smiling.
She was right though, a Faie was strong enough to take him on. But he wasn't going to admit that, or let her know that he knew it. He didn't own the quad, but the smarter ones didn't often invade his space. Mac concluded that she was either crazy or stupid. Or perhaps she was looking for trouble.
His animal instincts, however did not think that a tiny girl could win a fight with himself. Mac had never had a good hold on his instincts, so when the urge for an easy prey kicked in, Mac barely had time to swerve to the right before his short legs dashed forward to lunge at her. His mouth missed her by an inch, he did not stop until he had put at least some distance between them. Mac's animal self still wanted a piece of her.
