Devon had 'hmm'ed and 'ahh'ed along with his explanation, only half-listening as she glanced through the book. Unreadable or not, it was interesting to realize that all these indistinguishable (at least, for her) little scribbles made up words and sentences. Sure, Spanish had accents that the English language didn't use – but it was still all the Roman alphabet.
"That is no bookmark," she protested, practically on her side as she leaned away from Yitzhak. But, in the end, he managed to snatch the book back, leaving Devon to watch him with wide eyes. "Yitzhak," she began, quite seriously, "were you hiding porn in your Torah?"
