Instead of all of this, how about an alternative.

Put a disclaimer on the profile explaining the
age requirements. If they join anyways, and they
are underage, then it's their problem, not yours.

I mean... it shouldn't be your problem.
The parents are the ones who are letting their
kids go on the internet unrestricted.
If you really care... then check. Or ask.
