Moved from InsaneJournal's main updates/news page, my first (and revised) suggestions for a Journal theme/design:

The theme should be an asylum, the header image can be floor tiles; with a grunge effect and sticking with the yellow theme of IJ. Or.. it could be a cement wall with a grunge effect, and the top half of a cell door; where Tweak can be situated.. Tweak's design... reminds me too much of the huge emoticon ads found on Google and elsewhere, and I don't know about the design: there's too many different simple art styles to choose from, in simplicity, but still looking a bit different from every other Journal mascot.  A rat would work, and he could be behind the cell door, partially visible through the door's small window. Or in front of the door, somewhere. If it's a rat, it can't be photo-realistic or cel-shading; like Frank the Goat. Boring and resembles clip-art. A cockroach mascot = </3?

For the actual features and their layout(s); it could stay the same as it currently is- most journals have most of the links situated on the left side and running down the page; it looks tacky and too busy when you're logged in, even though in website design you should always put the logo and important links on the left/top left, being the first place where people look to while on a web page.

Links  shouldn't be hidden five pages deep; regardless if it's something you use all the time or something else you need only a few times every two weeks; it being hidden on a page that has nothing to with that feature's purpose.

I don't need to expand on my original idea for the PM/Inbox, that's been cleared up... Posting entries should remain the same, with the drop-down menu of "post to X journal.." at the bottom, instead of at the top above the actual entry field.

Testimonials would be awesome to have here!

Instead of Tweak beside each user's name, it should be a patient's documents on a clipboard; pixel art style. It'll be better eye candy and become another asylum-related design for IJ, instead of a jagged face when miniaturized.
