This may seem a small point, but over at That Other Place a lot of trouble started over user interest lists. The formula "I like _____" led to all sorts of chaos -- obviously, if someone has crime, murder, and agatha christie in their interest list, they're most likely a mystery buff and not a hardened criminal. Still, the "I like _____" is problematic.
The instructions for setting up interests here are the same as theirs, and could use an update. It could easily be changed to "I like discussing _____" or "I like talking about _____" -- since this is a social networking site, everything one posts is an invitation to talk or debate. This would safeguard people from the same trap LiveJournal found itself in when challenged back in May.
