I am very interested to see if there would be a photo-hosting option for people on Insanejournal. A lot of the images I use are far too large in quality/size to host on free sites like Photobucket, so I've always used my Livejournal Scrapbook. My paid account is soon to expire on that site, but I have no alternative to upload them online.

So will Insanejournal have something similar to Livejournal's Scrapbook? I have a couple of ideas of how to play it out, if administration is willing to hear them out.

Since a large majority of users are permanent accounts, they should be given a little bit of free space for image hosting. Not a whole lot, but enough to justify a permanent account. THEN make an option available to 'permanently' or 'temporarily' purchase more space for the account. For example, I'm permanently insane, but want to still give more money to Insanejournal. So I would pay for extra hosting space for my photo hosting space permanently and get to keep it. Temporarily can be like a paid account, expires after some time and has to be paid every few months.

I am sure there's several other ideas out there that other users can provide as well. Including a clever name that escapes me right now :)

[eta]: The reason I bring up Livejournal's instead of Greatestjournal's is because there's currently a ridiculous limit on GJ's. It's like under a certain file size and perimeters, whereas LJ has none of that. As long as you have the space to use, it lets you upload as many large photos as you like :)
