"Yeah, I wouldn't be able to wave or anything," Billy said with a smirk. "Good thing though, so far whenever I've changed, it's all been at once. Or close enough to all at once that it didn't seem to matter. "Heck, for all I know, I wouldn't be able to change one part and not all of it. Plus, like you said, I'd end up mutilated. A metal hand is one thing, but a metal stump? Think I'll pass on that."
He chuckled and drew a hand through his hair. "I figured not mine, dork. But that sucks. I guess since you're changing into something, it's different than me just gaining a couple feet and a few hundred pounds. I mean, everything stays the same, but gets bigger. It's cool that they're working on something for you though. Whatever it is, it'll probably be something great. Shit, you'll probably like it so much you'll walk around in it for a couple weeks." He rolled his eyes, just imagining Teddy preening in the mirror.
The silence between them always seemed to be comfortable - at least that was the way Billy saw it - felt it. "Hmm?" He had been thinking about his schoolwork when Teddy had spoken. "Yeah, sure man. You know you can ask me anything." If Billy wasn't so lazy, he would have gotten up, walked over there, and smacked Teddy on the back of the head. But yeah, Billy was lazy.
