Was this how it was always going to be? Him trying to avoid her and her chasing after him? Ginny wasn't sure whether she could actually do that now, which was a saddening thought. There had been a time she would have walked beside him to the ends of the world.
But he was different now. They both were.
She stared in return, recalling the last time they spoke to each other. Well, at least she couldn't hex him and he couldn't Apparate away. Ginny's mouth opened briefly before she closed it and laughed a little. The redhead looked away off into the corner of air somewhere just to the right of him before gaze returned and she shook her head.
Good Merlin, she felt as she had when they were children and she couldn't get out more than a sentence before squeaking around him. There was no squeaking now, but that same sort of tongue-tying.
