Halloween meant very little to Percy, in that he had no plans to attend the party that was going on. He disliked parties very greatly, for their only served to illustrate how awkward he was socially. They were always the same. He would stand around with a glass of something non-alcoholic in hand, looking for someone to talk to, but of course there was none. And eventually he would call off early. Not to mention he couldn't even begin to fathom what he would choose for a costume. In the end, it was much easier to simply not go.
So while other people were making their way downstairs in costumes to have a bit of fun, Percy went to the Common Room, planning to sit and read, or just sit with his thoughts, or perhaps compose a letter to send to his Mother, as he hadn't sent one in two days. But when he arrived in the Common Room, he found a very familiar journal sitting on the coffee table. Familiar in that they were all the same. He picked it up and flipped only the front cover open, glancing at the name.
Of all the luck. Of course it belonged to Draco Malfoy.
He could have left it there. But a sense of propriatry would not let him. For anyone could come along and read it. And he knew if it was his journal, he wouldn't want that. Having not flipped through the pages, he had no idea that Draco's journal was completely empty.
With a long-suffering sigh, Percy turned out of the room with the journal held in his hand. He went through the halls until he came to draco's door - he knew it, because the room number was written under the name on the inside cover. Percy considered leaving it there, but again, anyone could come along and pick it up and read it.
And so he knocked.
