Rules and Regs
The Rules:
1) This is an 18+ Game. Sorry, folks but there will be adult content here and the mods don't want to worry about corrupting the minds of impressionable youths. Please don't try and lie about your age to join up either, we will find out and you will be banned. This is to protect the rights of the adults in the game and to comply with any age of consent or public decency laws in the various countries our players are from.
2) Please note this is a slash-friendly community but keep things on the comm under PG-13. You can do whatever you want on your personal journals though the mods do recommend that all adult content must be put behind an adult-lock and appropriate warnings must be put up on personal journals. This will save us all the hassle of any under-aged readers stumbling upon ours posts.
3) Frequent posting is required. If you feel like you're going to be gone any longer than a week, let the mods know so we can put you on hiatus. If you up and disappear without alerting the comm (especially when you're in the middle of a major mission or storyline) the mods retain the right to NPC your character to keep things moving along.
Please note, do not start a major plot-line right before a planned hiatus since that is not fair to the other players to make them wait for you to deal with your various RL issues. That is not to say we're unsympathetic or won't be understanding but please think of your fellow players. Obviously, RL pops up and gets in between us and the intrawebs and we understand that. All we ask is that you be considerate to the other players in the game.
4) Etiquette: In-fighting, snarky or deliberately baiting comments will not be tolerated. We're all adults here people, we know what is socially acceptable and what is not. All the mods are old-school gamers and have experience in running a game. Because of this we do not take things like meta-gaming or using OOC information in character lightly. Do not be surprised if we come to you and go "Okay, and how does your character know that?" The whole idea of this community is to RP and to allow your characters grow. We're going to make you work for your information. That's not to say it's not attainable but nothing is going to be handed to you on a plate, you as the player will have to take the actions to gain that information.
5) Communication is key to a well-run RP. If you have issue with something, talk to us, don't just sit there and simmer and get bitter over something. The mods want your input and suggestions on how to improve the game so talk to us. And if you have an issue with a particular mod, take it up with another mod but please do not bounce from mod to mod trying to get the answer you want. The mods are all easily reachable at our provided contact information.
6) Please create character journals and post from them.
7) No advertising for other communities or non-RP related things, please.
8) It's a game! Have fun! If you're not having fun, let us know because happy players make a happy game!
The Mechs:
Most player characters will be Autobots since this is the focus of the game. That is not to say your characters (both canon and OC) can't start out as being a Neutral. Just keep in mind the idea is to eventually have the Autobots retake control of Iacon and bring some semblance of order and balance to the city.
Allowed Factions:
Autobots
Neutrals
Note: There might be some Decepticon characters appearing from time to time as either Neutrals before they make their choice or even as spies. As a rule, no player will be allowed to bring in a Decepticon character since we're keeping them in reserve only for storyline purposes. If you have a great idea for a Decepticon double-agent you want to run by us though, by all means. Some very special exceptions might be made in the name of storyline purposes!
Timekeeping:
Whenever the mods hand out missions or major storylines they will be assigned a Mission Number. There won't be a set time-frame this will allow the missions to go on as long as they need to be without people feeling constrained with having their characters tied up for days or weeks on end. As anyone who's been in an online RP can tell you, major arcs can go on for weeks and after about week two you get antsy wanting something to do with your character.
Because of this, the mods will let you run your character on a mission but if everyone wants to do a more light-hearted 'Time has no meaning!' sort of storyline or throw a party that will be considered Off-Duty and will not fit into the main timeline continuity.
This is going to be a loose rule for now and is in it's trial-run so to speak. Obvious when playing an OC it would be a bit awkward if they end up dying on a mission but are being actively played in the night on the town!thread somewhere else. Thus why we'll keep those 'Off-Duty' threads as being outside the local continuity.
Keep in mind with Cybertronians, time really doesn't have any meaning because some of these things could happen solar cycles apart. If you have any questions or need clarification, do not hesitate to ask!
Damage:
Be careful what you ask for. The mods are evil. XP We have a set list of damages and downtime required for that damage so a word to the wise, don't go blowing your characters or being too cavalier because we will make you sit on a character until enough time has passed to warrant their being 'repaired'
Killing Original Characters:
Yes, we can and will do this. Keep in mind people, this was a horrific time to be an Autobot and the problem with OC's is that as far as canon is concerned, none of them make it to the modern times and every player should keep in mind that their OC will eventually be taken out of the game one way or another. No whining or foot-stomping if your OC gets killed off. We're going to be fair about things and the mods doubt this will become a problem but childish tantrums will not be tolerated.. The various pros and cons of playing an OC vs. a canon character will be explained more in the FAQ as will the OC character creation rules.
Character Claims
Due to the fact that one or more of your characters might be out of game due to a mission or damage, we're being very generous and allowing a maximum of Three character claims. If you choose to play an OC, you may only play one OC at a time.
If will be a first-come-first-served basis on canon character claims.
