"I wish it wasn't true, Adith." Maybe the boy would forget this conversation ever took place, maybe the pain he was in would wipe it from his memory, or else he would think it was a dream, a strange, drug induced dream. "There are those who think the beast that attacked you was a werewolf. That is what Mr Horrigan proposed in his latest article." He told him, trying to keep his voice neutral, although he wished he could curse that journalist.
"I don't know what attacked you. But the werewolves say it was not them. I don't know if I can believe them or not. There... there only seems one way to prove if it was them, or if it was not." He tried to keep his eyes from flickering to the boy's bandaged shoulder, but they moved, almost of their own accord, and rested their for the barest moment.
