Violet Valliant was looking through all her letters and did all her compliments and thank you notes and everything. In the little brass plate were a variety of calling cards.
The paperwork was never done, she should be used to it. Father always had her write the letters and file the files and order the calling cards. And she wasn't bad at it. But it could get complicated in this house.
"Violet have you seen the accelerant!" Vance's voice raised from the basement.
"What? No. No. We only do that outside." Violet shouted, as an indian man approached the house.
Shelowered her voice as she saw they were in mixed company. She thought she recognized him. "I'm very sorry sir, we are a bit busy today. If You have business please leave a card?" She asked.
She grabbed a small pile of diminishing cards, maybe less then three were left. "Oh my I forgot to send an order to the printers. I mean... I am sorry" She seemed a little upset by something. As she handed the man the card. "Here you go sir."
"Violet I really think this tanserite is a fitting substitute. All you have to do..." "We do not light fires in the house, go out to the stable!" She could barely excuse herself from the servants presence before smoke exited the basement door. Then sense gave way to propriety and she was forced to bid the man goodbye.
