"Mn. Londinium was a stately place and if you like the Alliance, you'd be most happy there, for there's ten soldiers on every street corner. Osiris is fine and beautiful, full of art and music. Sihnon was my favorite. That's where they base the Companion's Guild, and it's a place of grace, filled with light."
Women tended to like poetic words and lush descriptions; Miss Cardiff had come directly to his hand with them. Aurora might be the same, were he to put a little effort to it; he'd see how things progressed, and if she would be useful for him in some way.
"Greenleaf's a fine place--I've lived there many years now. The best medical facilities in the 'verse. I couldn't confirm about the smuggling personally, but I'd imagine that such an enterprise would be profitable."
Smuggling had never been a particular interest of his; he much preferred information brokering and retrieval, with the odd con just to keep his hand in and for quick credits. Aurora's expression, soft and fond, seemed to indicate that she knew something about it, more than she told. He might coax it out later.
She smiled prettily at him, and he returned a warm one. "I'll be sticking a bit, yes. Unless the Captain or Jonah weary of me and toss me onto some planet. But for you, I'll attempt to be an interesting and amusing travel companion." He patted her hand on his arm, friendly and companionably. "Though really, I'll attempt to stay out of trouble. I'd really rather not have my nose broken again, although they do say that the third time is the charm."
