Blissfully oblivious to any hint of irony in the second-in-command's voice, Aurora continued to stride confidently through the bustle to the man in question and his wares, her pace quickening in anticipation. Jonah's question, however, brought her up short. She stopped abruptly, nearly colliding with several customers in the process.
She flushed and turned to regard him with a mutinous expression on her face. It was not the suggestion that she might steal that stung her, but rather his implication that she would do so unsuccessfully. "I'll have you know I've made off with rings from the fingers of top Alliance law enforcement and left them none the wiser."
Confident that she had made her point she rapidly adopted a suitably respectful tone, brushing aside her momentary fit of pique. "And I know you would win. That's the point. You just need to stand behind me and look... menacing." Aurora concluded brightly, still convinced this plan of hers was a brilliant one.
