Jason laughed softly, stopping and turning. "Yeah. I'm gonna stay out here. Gonna stand guard on your mall, and make sure none of yours attack me," he said. It was all a front; he was going to head back to his bunker and try to nap while they slept.
Not that he'd tell her that. Let her wonder. It wasn't like she'd be able to see him to find out, and he grinned.
Peter, seeing someone familiar, whickered softly and started over toward Olena. Maybe she had something to eat, though the grass was good, too.
Jason watched as the stupid horse came back, and he wondered if he could chase him off again. It hardly seemed worth it though. Olena was there, and she'd tell everyone at the mall that he was around and threatening them.
That was kind of like a good secondary plan, right? Sure it was.
