A few minutes into the walk, Olena couldn’t help but decide what a stupid idea it was to go out alone. She was sure the silence could make anyone go crazy, and Olena couldn’t help, but wonder if it was already doing that to her. With each step she took, she could swear there was an extra pair of feet following behind.
She paused briefly, to turn and look behind her. Finding nothing, she frowned, and moved a little quicker.
A few more feet, and the sound was back. Time and time again she stopped to look around, but always nothing.
Despite the distractions, it wasn't long before she was back to the shelter. She didn't want to believe it, but after a quick survey of her surroundings, Olena knew the truth.
