It was a strange feeling. She had spent most of her life alone in a world filled with billions of people, so how was it possible that after all that had happened to the world, she was finding herself surrounded by so many others? While she had to admit it had been manageable spending time with one other person (and a horse), she still couldn't deny the fact that it had still been a big adjustment. But now there were others. Several others. It had been one thing to have to worry about one other person, but now there was a group to worry about.
Despite the others pleas and the fact that she knew it was in her best interest to stay with the group, Olena had taken in upon herself to go back for their supplies and the horse alone. She was too consumed with thoughts about the recent meeting to worry about what was out there waiting for her –- not to mention she knew Ashley would be concerned about Peter soon enough. As the others headed inside, promising to be back shortly, Olena headed back toward the girls' shelter.
