Ashley frowned, sliding her hand up Peter's reins, gripping a little closer to the bit in case she had to encourage him to trot along. Her other hand pressed to her mouth to muffle the little moan of fear. Not another one, oh, please, not another one. She nodded to Olena's command, and started to lead Peter around a dangerous looking pile of rubble, toward another building. The more between them and the noise, the better.
Jason listened, letting his eyes shift focus to see past the building, to track them. He saw the blonde girl and the ... horse. Oh, God, what were they thinking?
Shifting his weight a little, he moved around to keep the dark-haired girl in his sight, and once there was nothing left between them he had to see through, he let his eyes slide into the normal focus, watching her.
Maybe if he was still ... and quiet ... she wouldn't notice him.
When the breeze kicked up and stirred some dust, he didn't think much of it. He certainly didn't think it might look odd for the dust to be stopping in mid-air (at least to her eyes) when it struck his side.
