While the others chatted Sparky looked over his Segway to make sure it wasn’t too badly damaged. He guessed it was okay then turned his attention to the mannequin he’d run down and was in less that okay condition. “Aw Hank, why’d you have to go and run out in front of me like that. I know, I know, you just wanted to show up your fancy new jogging gear but c’mon man you gotta look out for traffic. Next time your not going to get off with just a missing leg.” Sparky continued to scold the mannequin while he picked up the leg and managed to reattach it. “There, good as new. You be more careful now, hank. I mean it.”
Hopping back on his Seqway Sparky started to roll off but came to a halt when he heard something behind him. Turning his head he spotted the four puppies he had saved, all sitting and looking curiously at Sparky. With his eyes still on the puppies Sparky rolled forward a few feet and the puppies moved forward then sat down again. Sparky repeated his little movements several times with the same results. Finally, as though a starting pistol went off, the puppies all charged and Sparky peeled out on the Segway. He was pretty sure he’d laid down some rubber but he’d have to check later as he was too busy trying to escape the frolicking puppies that were quickly gaining on him. Moments later he went zipping past the others with the puppies right behind.
“Look! New person! Go sniff him,” Sparky shouted in desperation.
