She actually flinched at the quick motion, taking a step back before she realized he wasn't pulling a gun on her or something. She attempted to figure out which part of that to respond to. She was curious about the museum part, but it wasn't particularly relevant to the moment. Instead, what came out was, "Pete doesn't eat chips."
Then realizing that probably needed clarification, she flushed slightly before she continued. "He's a horse. I didn't want to bring him into the city in case he broke a leg, but I didn't want to leave him alone, either, but he was acting weird and this place felt weird, and I just wanted to get a knife or something in case anyone attacked me, but I don't have a flashlight and it was stupid to come in here in the dark." She paused for breath, and realized that was probably the most she'd spoken at one time to anyone in her life, ever.
Lifting her hands to rub her cheeks, she continued in a more controlled voice. "We've got supplies. I ... I picked up some things along the way. I don't really know where I'm going. I was just ... trying to find out if people survived."
